Natalia Vodianova and Roberto Cavalli's "Diva" bag

I'm in total lust with this Natalia Vodianova look. It's so far from her usual soft make-up and wavy hair. She's beyond beautiful.
And the new Roberto Cavalli bag? Awesome dosen't even cover it.

Appointment With Gynecologist

In Melbourne, one of the radio stations paid money for people to tell their most embarrassing stories. This one netted the winner $3000.00.

She said:
I was due later that week for an appointment with my gynecologist when early one morning I received a phone call from his office: I had been rescheduled for early that morning at 9:30 am. I had just packed everyone off to work and school and it was around 8:45 already. The trip to his office usually took about 35 minutes so I didn't have any time to spare. As most women do, I'm sure, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So I rushed upstairs, threw off my night gown, wet the wash cloth and gave myself a wash in "that area" in front of the sink, making sure I was presentable.

I threw the wash cloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment. I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when he called me in. Knowing the procedure as I'm sure you all do, I hopped up on the table, looked over to the other side of the room and pretended I was in Hawaii or some other place a million miles away.

I was a little surprised when he said "My we have taken a little extra effort this morning, haven't we?" , but I didn't respond. The appointment over, I breathed a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day went normal, did some shopping, cleaning, the evening meal, etc.

At 8:30PM that evening, my 14 year old daughter was fixing to go to a school dance, when she called down from the bathroom asking, "Mom -- where's my wash cloth?"

I called back for her to get another one from the cabinet.

She called back, "No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles in it."

Outfit of the Day: Floral and Striped

Topshop skirt

Marc by Marc Jacobs cardigan

Anglomania and Melissa Shoes

Gold Heart Chain

Now that autumn's here I'm feeling awfully colorful...

Obsession: Chanel

If any jewelry is bound to make a statement, it would be the ever-recognizable Chanel pearl necklace. The long, multiple strands of pearls elegantly interspersed with charms and logos is niether vulgar nor obvious.
I want one.

Louis Vuitton Ad Campaign F/W 2010

Every season, I fall in love with Louis Vuitton a little bit more. At the unveiling of this ad campaign, I was more than sold.
Natalia Vodianova, Christy Turlington, and Karen Elson work their magic with Steven Meisel and his camera.

Fashion Week's Shoes; Louboutin, Kirkwood,

Louboutin for Mary Katrantzou

Louboutin for Johnathan Saunders

Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte

The shoes I've seen these designers come up with at fashion week have left me generally speechless as they've been nothing short of beautiful. Any pair would be a greatful addition to my closet.

Autumn Trend: Maxiskirts

Salvatore Ferragamo

Dries Van Noten

Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti

Aquascutum

Michael Kors

So, the long skirts are back, I'm excited about that. Because I honestly can't remember when they were considered fashionable and not fashion crime. Footwear with these skirts will be worlds apart as well.
I'm uber curious to see how this trend will work off the runway, but I'm keeping my hopes high.
My favorites? The Philosophy and Van Noten.

Rich Arabs

Sheikh's Son (Nasser) goes to Germany to study. A month later, Nasser sends an e-mail to his Dad saying:

Dear Dad,

Berlin is wonderful, people are nice and I really like it here, but Dad, I am bit ashamed to arrive to my college with my Gold Mercedes , when all my Teachers travel by train.

Your Son, Nasser

Sometime later Nasser gets reply to his e-mail from his Dad:
Loving son,

Please stop embarrassing us, Forty Million Dollars transferred to your account, go and get a train for yourself too.

Tons of love, Your Dad
;)

One minute egg

She was standing in the kitchen preparing to boil eggs for breakfast,
wearing only the T-shirt that she normally slept in.

As I walked in almost awake she turned and said softly, "You've
got to make love to me this very moment."

My eyes lit up and I thought, "I am either still dreaming or this is going
to be my lucky day." Not wanting to lose the moment I
embraced her and then gave it my all right there
on the kitchen table.

After wards she said, "Thanks," and returned to the stove, her T-shirt still
around her neck. A little puzzled, I asked,
"What was that all about?"
She explained, "The egg timer's broken."
Women are very mean.

What I've been up to.

Hey guys, I know I haven't blogged much this past week, so I just thought I'd share some things that have kept me away from here.
First off, I've finnished exams! For now at least. They went great and I'm so incredibly relieved that's over with (for now)
I've been reading lots and lots, my head spins sometimes when I can't keep up with all the plots from the different books (hah). I'm finishing The Millenium Trilogy and might I say that I love it. I was also enthusiastic about the Swedish movie based on the first book.

Lisbeth Salander is by all means my heroine.

I've taken advantge of my free time to catch up on movies and TV shows a lot. My sisters and I love watching The A-Team and Criminal Minds together, while I've also been watching a lot of old movies like Nosferatu, The Innocents, and the FIRST movie ever made, Frankenstien (1910). What I love about old movies is the enthusiasm the people making them had. They were the pioneers of a new and incredible art form, and are just electrifiying.

We've been to two especially beautiful fairs here in the north of Italy, fist the Mostra Mercato Di Bienno, a small mountain town which organizes a fair each year where craftsmen can showcase their work. It happens all through the town, but most of the expos are in small cave-sort of tunnels that dot Bienno.

The other fair is called Festa di Santa Croce and takes place in Montisola, a tinsy winsy island in the Lake of Iseo. From the 14th to the 19th of September, the island is decorated with paper machè flowers, and I'll tell you, it's lovely. Unfortunately, it only takes place once every five years...

Can you believe all those flowers are fake? Wow. I hear it takes a year and a half to get this together, no wonder it's only once every five years.

So, that's been a little part of my life these months I wanted to share with you guys. Thanks for following this blog. Till next post.
Ciao ciao.

Oh by the way, we had homemade sushi for lunch today, you see I have the luck of having a Japanese sister-in-law. Delicious.

P.S. I've finally gotten around to creating a facebook page for my site, so be sure to click the "Like" button! thanks!

Style Crush: Zoe Saldana

Honestly, what's not to love about this girl? She's a talented actress, a gorgeous woman, and a fashion queen. I'm always looking out for her at different events, beacuse I know that no matter the tenor of the event she's attending, Zoe Saldana will always be picture perfect.
Trying to show every look I like would be too much for just one post, so I'll do my best to illustrate the showstoppers.

At the London Premeire of Avart she was a total knockout in RM by Rolan Muoret. The dress is so decliously structured and incredibly perfect I think I'll run out of superlatives in this post. Everything in this look, hair, makeup, jewely, and frock work together to give us one of her best looks. And they've all been good.

This is THE showstopper of the year. I have LOVED this Givenchy work of art since I saw it. Zoe is of course the perfect candidate to do justice to Riccardo Tisci and his brilliance.

Her she is at the Met Costume Gala in Calvin Klein...wow. This gown is so understated but so intricate at the same time. The color compliments her skin tone to perfection, and the stones embeded throughout the gown offer the needed piazz. I love the simplicity of her hair and the single gold cuff.

Zoe shows how the LBD is meant to be worn in this Vionnet masterpiece. With style, grace, and a touch of quirkiness. I love the total black nature of this look which so offsets the pop of red on her lips. Also, I ADORE the soft braided updo.

In other words, Zoe Saldana, you are one of my fashion royalties, I don't know how you do it, but you do it. And that's all that counts. Please never stop.

Birth Control Pills to sleep well

An elderly woman went into the doctor's office.
When the doctor asked why she was there.
She replied, "I'd like to have some birth control pills."

Taken aback, the doctor thought for a minute and then said, "Excuse me, Mrs. Keith, but you're 75 years old. What possible use could you have for birth control pills?"
The woman responded, "They help me sleep better."
The doctor thought some more and continued, "How in the world do birth control pills help you to sleep?"

The woman said, "I put them in my granddaughter's orange juice and I sleep better at night."
Very Happy Very Happy :D

Give Me Some Valentino Couture

Ever since Maria Grazia Churi and Pier Paolo Piccoli took over leading the Valentino fashion house, I've fallen back in love. (Alessandra Facchinetti's occasional ray of light in her two, three collections was simply NOT good enough for such a name.)
Each collection remains faithful to the master himself, and yet delivers fresh, new, and young interpretations. This is what I call carrying the torch onwards.

My favorite part of this collection? It simply screams "Couture For The Young"
